Time flies if you are having a good time and when you are with the main one you love. As the years pass by, perhaps your anniversaries begin to sneak up on you, with you and your cherished one seemingly always winding up venturing out to dinner again. Or probably the big day comes and goes, and you don't do some thing because you're on a tight budget and can't think of something to achieve that is celebratory, memorable, and won't cost a fortune. (Sure, a visit to the wine country sounds perfect; but is it worth refinancing your property and mortgage to finance this?)
Well, luckily, you may be both romantic and financially smart. Here are 5 inexpensive and exciting new approaches to celebrate your anniversary.
1. Just Be Together
Take the day faraway from work, turn off the cellular phone, stop checking your email, and just spend some quality time together and save money. Keep it simple and remove yourselves from your busy everyday lives. Celebrate your lifetime together because that's what your anniversary is all about.
2. Match Your Gift with Your Anniversary Year
If this really is your fifth anniversary, give five roses. If this is your 10th anniversary, provide a 10-minute massage. Be thoughtful and fun. Create a game out of it, and see who will come up with the most creative number-themed gift.
3. Give Thoughtful Gifts
For every single anniversary year, you will find traditional gifts that you can give. Like, the gift for the initial year is traditionally paper. Consider giving your partner stationery you've customized, a guide, a love letter, or other things associated with paper. It doesn't need to be expensive, just thoughtful. There's also a contemporary anniversary gift for every year. For instance, for the fourth anniversary, the present day gift is appliances, which could be a lot cheaper when compared to a pricey piece of technology. If you're interested in what these gifts are, here is a handy set of traditional and modern anniversary gifts by year.
4. Watch Your Wedding Video
I don't think I've ever watched my wedding video. Honestly, I am not sure where it is. But what's the idea of having a video made if you're not going to watch it? Your anniversary is a good opportunity to remember that special day, so dust off that wedding DVD and watch highlights together. If there isn't one, perhaps you've a video of a holiday you took or another memorable occasion. Or even, look throughout your wedding album or pictures that you have got through your years together.
5. Get Crafty
If you are feeling only a little artsy, go decorate some pottery for every other (most towns have a DIY pottery studio or two). Or make something together, like a photo album or scrapbook of the previous year's events.
