Time flies if you are having a great time and if you are with usually the one you love. Whilst the years pass, perhaps your anniversaries begin to sneak on you, with you and your family member seemingly always finding yourself venturing out to dinner again. Or perhaps the big day comes and goes, and you don't do anything more because you're on a tight budget and can't consider something to do that is celebratory, memorable, and won't cost a fortune. (Sure, a visit to your wine country sounds perfect; but can it be worth refinancing your house and mortgage to finance this?)
Well, luckily, you may be both romantic and financially smart. Here are 5 inexpensive and exciting new ways to celebrate your anniversary.
1. Just Be Together
Take the day faraway from work, switch off the cellular phone, stop checking your email, and just spend some quality time together and save money. Keep it simple and remove yourselves from your busy everyday lives. Celebrate your life together because that is what your anniversary is all about.
2. Match Your Gift with Your Anniversary Year
If this is your fifth anniversary, give five roses. If this really is your 10th anniversary, give a 10-minute massage. Be thoughtful and fun. Produce a game from the jawhorse, and see who are able to come up with creative number-themed gift.
3. Give Thoughtful Gifts
For each anniversary year, there are traditional gifts that you can give. Like, the gift for the first year is traditionally paper. Consider giving your better half stationery you have customized, a guide, a love letter, or anything else related to paper. It doesn't have to be expensive, just thoughtful. There is also a modern anniversary gift for each year. Like, for the fourth anniversary, the present day gift is appliances, which is actually a lot cheaper than a pricey little bit of technology. If you're thinking about what these gifts are, listed here is a handy listing of traditional and modern anniversary gifts by year.
4. Watch Your Wedding Video
I don't think I've ever watched my wedding video. Honestly, I am not sure where it is. But what's the point of experiencing a movie made if you should be not going to view it? Your anniversary is a good opportunity to consider that special day, so pull out that wedding DVD and watch highlights together. If you do not have one, perhaps you have a movie of a holiday you took or another memorable occasion. Or even, look during your wedding album or pictures that you have got during your years together.
5. Get Crafty
If you're feeling a little artsy, go decorate some pottery for each other (most towns have a DIY pottery studio or two). Or make something together, just like a photo album or scrapbook of the prior year's events.
