Welcome to Uyi Ehigie's Blog: Happy 20th Wedding
Time flies when you're having fun and if you are with the one you love. As the years go by, perhaps your anniversaries begin to sneak up on you, with you and your loved one seemingly always finding yourself venturing out to dinner again. Or perhaps the big day comes and goes, and that you do not do some thing because you are on a restricted budget and can't think of something to accomplish this is celebratory, memorable, and won't cost a fortune. (Sure, a visit to the wine country sounds perfect; but could it be worth refinancing your home and mortgage to finance this?)
Well, luckily, you can be both romantic and financially smart. Listed here are 5 inexpensive and exciting new ways to celebrate your anniversary.
1. Just Be Together
Take your day removed from work, turn off the mobile phone, stop checking your email, and just spend some quality time together and save money. Keep it simple and remove yourselves from your busy everyday lives. Celebrate your lifetime together because that's what your anniversary is all about.
2. Match Your Gift with Your Anniversary Year
If that is your fifth anniversary, give five roses. If that is your 10th anniversary, provide a 10-minute massage. Be thoughtful and fun. Make a game from it, and see who is able to appear with creative number-themed gift.
3. Give Thoughtful Gifts
For every single anniversary year, you will find traditional gifts that you could give. For instance, the gift for the first year is traditionally paper. Consider giving your better half stationery you have customized, a guide, a love letter, or whatever else connected with paper. It doesn't have to be expensive, just thoughtful. There is also a modern anniversary gift for every year. As an example, for the fourth anniversary, the current gift is appliances, which is actually a lot cheaper when compared to a pricey bit of technology. If you're interested in what these gifts are, here is a handy listing of traditional and modern anniversary gifts by year.
4. Watch Your Wedding Video
I don't think I've ever watched my wedding video. Honestly, I'm not really sure where it is. But what's the idea of having a video made if you should be not going to view it? Your anniversary is a great opportunity to keep in mind that special day, so take out that wedding DVD and watch highlights together. If you don't have one, perhaps you've a movie of a secondary you took or another memorable occasion. Or even, look during your wedding album or pictures that you have got through your years together.
5. Get Crafty
If you are feeling only a little artsy, go decorate some pottery for every other (most towns have a DIY pottery studio or two). Or make something together, just like a photo album or scrapbook of the previous year's events.
